Project Design Smart Building

Question: Discuss about the Project Design of Smart Building. Answer: Overview of the project The document that is contains the insights about the Smart Home Heating Solution that needs to be developed. Each phase of this interface development project is significant to maintain the general features of the suggested application. There is total of nine modules of interface that are equipped with the answers to showcase the ease of use of the developed application. The home interface is utilized to show the step by step temperature measurements of the device, and it likewise displays the data about the current temperature and the system movement. Profile interface is correlated with its four mini interfaces which are utilized to plan unique custom setup for further use. The following framework is characterized device module which displays various warming process where the client has the features to change the heating as per their need. The final module is a fast activation module that enables the features of the automated configuration operation. Project Vision The vision of the project is to design the GUI that is capable of handling the Smart Home Thermostat and to make sure that the designed graphical user interface is much easier to use and fulfil all the customers and enterprise or organization needs. To create a user interface for the Smart home thermostat that will help the decrease or save consumption of power and provides the environmental advantages to pre-set the device temperature to keep the household sections warm. The primary goal of the Smart Home Thermostat manufacturers is to provide a well-designed system which will motivate the clients to purchase the products to make savings on cost. To design the system in such a way that it can be operated in multiple regions with its self C-panel and a temperature detector. Project Scope The project scope is to develop and design the GUI system for the Smart Home Thermostat and reviewing the graphical user interface so as to access the deign efficiency. The system or device gives the environmental advantages, and the clients are much motivated to purchase the product when they do participate in the evaluation programs. The system should be designed in such a way that it can work in multiple regions, and each region or zones should have their C-panel for handling the operation. The activities that are internal and external of the project scope has been mentioned in the below table. Internal Project scopes activities External Project scopes activities The suggested Graphical User Interface design is developed. To overcome the challenges in the graphical user interface design to meet the customers needs. Reviewing the proposed design. Make sure that the power supply is there for the thermostat. Rebuilding the C-panel that is there with the present customers. Recreating the physical components of the thermostat. Table 1: Project Scope (Source: Created by the Author) Project Outcomes The project outcomes can be divided into multiple sections such as for an organization and the customers. Let us list out the needs of both organization and the customers. Organizational needs 1. Provide a user-friendly design such that it can assists the clients for handling the Smart Home Thermostat. 2. To provide enough information about the latest graphical user interface design which can save the consumption of power and its user-friendly on the environment and to be a cost-effective system for all the customers. 3. To promote the latest graphical user interface design efficiency and to increase the sales of a developed product. Customer needs 1. There are four modes of operation that the client can be able to use based on the proposed graphical user interface design. The modes are Steam, Electricity, Hot Water, and Hot Air. 2. The customer will be able to set the required temperature as per their needs in every section of their house. For example, they can configure the temperature of the hall area and the bedrooms, etc. However, the customer can be able to override the temperature setting to any particular temperature as per their need. 3. The customer can pre-set the temperature from their house remotely. 4. To ensure that the system does not occupy large space in the room and should be able of controlling the temperature zone in different areas of the house. Key assumptions 1. The enterprise or businesses that manufacture the SHT (Smart Home Thermostat) are looking to target the mid-level groups of families as their potential clients. 2. The graphical user interface which has been designed should begin first in the region of cold climates: as the primary stage of the project highlighted on the graphical user interfaces planning which will provide the clients to warm up their house areas. For the time being the cooling feature is not be integrated into the graphical user interface. Objectives, Outputs, and Targets Project Objective The primary objectives of the project are 1. To provide the user-friendly design of the GUI this will provide the capabilities to the clients to control the Smart Home Thermostat. 2. To provide a user-friendly graphical user interface design that will help the customers to use the system easily and which will also meet all the needs of the clients and enterprise. 3. To operate the user interface with ease and give them the appropriate training for an operation to increase the customer satisfaction level. Success Criteria The below table represent the criteria which required being addressed which will ensure the success of the designing task. Serial Number Clients Need Met Success Criteria 1 As discussed that the client needs to operate the thermostat in the said four modes. The graphical user interface does support all the features that have been provided by the thermostat. 2 For different household areas, the client should be able to set different temperature zones. The shortcut settings that is created by the support of graphical user interface. 3 The temperature setting once selected can be overridden by the client. The redoing operations have been supported by the graphical user interface design. Table 2: Success Criteria Table (Source: Created by the Author) Bibliography Cui, J. Xia, M. (2015).
